Blossoming Bellies offers Pregnancy Pilates and Post-natal Pilates in a small group environment as well as 1-on-1 Postnatal Pilates. Referrals are not necessary however it is advised that you seek medical advice prior to commencing an exercise regime. In specific cases, a doctor’s referral may be necessary. Please feel free to call the clinic on (07) 3871 1799 to discuss your suitability with the physiotherapist prior to commencing these classes.

Please bring a water bottle and towel to each class. It is advised that you wear light, cool clothing to each class for your comfort.

Pilates classes are conducted and supervised by physiotherapists and therefore private health insurance rebates may apply.

 

Pregnancy Pilates

This one hour class is a circuit-style class incorporating mat-based exercises, fitball exercises and Pilates reformer exercises. Classes are designed specifically for pregnant women by our qualified physiotherapists, with particular attention being paid to the deep abdominals and pelvic floor. Exercises can be modified to accommodate to each woman’s ability. Stretches and pelvic floor practice concludes this class.

Women can attend these classes from 12 weeks gestation. Maximum of 7 attendees per class.

Please note: Attendees must undertake a pregnancy Pilates assessment prior to entering this class.

Cost – $20 per visit.

Class Times: Tuesdays at 6:15pm and Saturdays at 8:15am

 

Post-natal Pilates Classes

Post-natal Pilates is highly beneficial for those women who have recently had a baby. Proper recovery following pregnancy and childbirth is vital to preventing ongoing pelvic floor, abdominal and pelvic instability issues. Post-natal Pilates is a safe form of exercise following the birth of your baby, with classes concentrating on improving pelvic floor function and deep abdominal muscle strength, as well as improving posture and general strength and flexibility. All exercises are pelvic floor safe.

This one hour class is a circuit-style class incorporating mat-based exercises, fitball exercises and Pilates reformer exercises. Classes are supervised by a qualified physiotherapist and can be modified to suit your fitness level.

Women can attend these classes from 6 week post birth. Maximum of 6 attendees per class.

Please note: New mothers must undertake a post-pregnancy assessment before they can commence Post-natal Pilates.

Cost – $20 per visit.

Class Times: Saturdays at 9:30am

 

Post-natal Pilates (1 on 1)

Post-natal Pilates is a great way for new mothers to enhance their recovery following childbirth and the advantage of 1-on-1 sessions is complete supervision by a qualified Physiotherapist at a time that is convenient for you.

Post-natal Pilates aims to:

• Improve deep abdominal muscle strength
• Improve pelvic floor muscle strength
• Improve posture
• Improve general strength and flexibility
• Reduce the risk of incontinence
• Assist new mothers to handle the physical demands of motherhood

These 45 minute sessions are available to women at any stage following the birth of their baby. Sessions will be designed to accommodate to each woman’s ability and all exercises are pelvic floor safe.

Cost: $75 per session (Health Fund rebates may apply)
